Kurt's play The Blue Vagabond had a glorious year last year with two productions in a row!. The critc for the Denver Post wrote:
"The beauty of the rest of the script, its timeless message of compassion for those on the street and its reminder of how short a fall such a life would be for most of us, makes The Blue Vagabond as compelling an evening of theatre as your're likely to find anywhere."
But writing and mounting a show doesn't seem to be enough. Kurt has also spent the last year creating The Crossroads Theatre, now housed in a new space at 2590 Washington Street. The Crossroads Theatre will offer a full season of plays, classes, and performances that celebrate all the arts. Located downtown on the lightrail, this venue will host arts, community programs and many CLE courses. For more information visit www.denvercrossroads.com.
Amie's short film Killing Kevin is winding down its whirlwind world tour, with 26 film festivals to date. She also will appear in Denver-made film Skills Like This to be released early 2008. Amie recently shot 20 commercials for Cox Digital Cable in Arizona. She can also still be seen locally in spots for Macdonald Automotive, Dependable Cleaners, National Jewish Hospital, vehix.com, Qdoba, Aerogarden, Ford, and print ads for Qwest. She is gearing up for another busy performance schedule with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra in their school outreach programs and concerts for kids. Look for a revival of Sylvia at the Avenue theatre this spring. Woof! To view her reels visit www.donnabaldwin.com.
Amie was front-page featured in an article in the Spotlight section of The Rocky Mountain News in an article about actors in Denver and all the things they do to make a living, from theatre, to voice over work, to commercials and beyond. It was a nice nod to all the creative and diverse talent Denver hosts in its acting community. Photos showed Amie in several of her higher profile commercials, including the "mom-on-the-verge" spot for the Kempe Foundation.
